Muse AI Download: How to Get Meta's Muse App (iOS, Android, Web, WhatsApp)

How to download and access Muse, Meta's personal AI agent — official iOS and Android apps, muse.ai on the web, and WhatsApp. No APKs, no third-party downloads.

Muse, Meta's personal AI agent, launched on September 8, 2026. Unlike a chatbot, Muse runs on its own secure computer in the cloud, connects to apps you choose, and can carry out multi-step tasks — but first you need to get access. This page explains every official way to download and use Muse, and the unofficial routes to avoid.

Official ways to access Muse

Per Meta's announcement, Muse is rolling out in the US through four official channels:

ChannelStatus (as of September 9, 2026)What it is
Muse app for iOSRolling out in the USFull agent experience, feed and ideas features
Muse app for AndroidRolling out in the USFull agent experience
muse.ai (web)Rolling out in the USBrowser access, no install needed
WhatsAppRolling out in the USCore Muse conversations and tasks inside WhatsApp

Meta also says Muse is "coming soon to AI glasses" — no date has been announced.

How to download the Muse app on iPhone (iOS)

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone (Muse requires iOS 18 or later).
  2. Install Muse from Meta — the official listing from Meta Platforms, Inc. (free, age-rated 17+).
  3. Open the app and sign in with your Meta account.
  4. Follow the setup prompts: choose which apps and services to connect (email, calendar, payments and more are optional, one at a time). Per TechCrunch, Muse asks for a payment card during setup.

If you don't see the app in your store, the rollout may not have reached your device or region yet — it's currently US-focused.

How to download the Muse app on Android

  1. Open Google Play and search for "Muse".
  2. Confirm the developer is Meta Platforms, Inc. before installing (the internal package name is com.facebook.hatch — a good sign you have the real one).
  3. Install, open, and sign in with your Meta account.
  4. Connect services only as you're ready — you choose how much access each one gets.

How to use Muse on the web (no download)

Go to muse.ai in any modern browser and sign in at the prompt (login happens on auth.muse.ai, Meta's own auth domain). The web version is part of the official US rollout, so it's the fastest way to check whether your account has access yet — no install required.

How to use Muse in WhatsApp

Muse works directly inside WhatsApp in the US, with the same core conversation and task abilities. According to CNBC reporting, the WhatsApp version does not include the Muse app's feed and ideas features. See our full guide to Muse on WhatsApp for setup and tips.

What you need to sign up

  • A Meta account (the same account family used for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp — muse.ai logs in via Meta's auth.muse.ai).
  • A payment card at signup, per TechCrunch — even on the free tier, likely tied to agent purchases via Link built by Stripe. You can set approval rules so nothing is bought without your sign-off.
  • Age: Apple's listing rates the app 17+, and press reporting describes Muse as intended for adults 18+. Meta hasn't published a consumer help page stating the minimum age.
  • iOS 18+ for iPhone users; an Android phone with current Google Play for the Android app.

Downloads to avoid

  • APK files from third-party sites. Meta distributes Muse only through official app stores. Sideloaded "Muse APKs" are a classic malware vector, and a malicious fake agent could harvest the very credentials Muse would normally keep isolated in its Secure VM.
  • "Muse mod" or "premium unlocked" apps. Muse has a free tier; there is nothing legitimate to unlock outside the app.
  • Browser extensions claiming to add Muse to Chrome. No such official extension exists.
  • Unrelated products named Muse. The muse.ai domain itself has a history: it belonged to an unrelated AI video-search startup that rebranded to Skiv in early 2026 — Meta now operates muse.ai as Muse's official web home. But other apps named Muse (meditation, music, fitness) are unrelated products, not Meta's agent.

If a page offers you a "Muse download" that isn't the App Store, Google Play, muse.ai or WhatsApp, it is not official.

Troubleshooting: can't find or install Muse?

  • Not in your app store: the US rollout is gradual. There is no waitlist page announced so far; check back periodically or try muse.ai.
  • Outside the US: Meta has not announced an international roadmap. See our Muse availability tracker for the current status and what to use instead.
  • Login or setup errors at launch: early users have reported intermittent sign-in and setup glitches in the first days after launch. Make sure the app is updated, then retry — and see our Muse AI overview for what the agent can and can't do yet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a Muse app to download?

Yes. "Muse from Meta" launched on September 8, 2026 for iOS (App Store, free, requires iOS 18 or later) and Android (Google Play), plus web access at muse.ai. Meta is rolling it out in the US first, so it may not appear in your store search right away if you're outside the US.

Is Muse free to download?

The app is free to download — Apple's listing confirms it at $0. Meta says Muse is "free for most of what people need, with subscription plans for people who want to do more." TechCrunch reports that a payment card is required at signup.

Where can I download the Muse APK for Android?

You shouldn't. Meta distributes Android Muse only through Google Play. Third-party APK sites are a common source of malware and fake agents, and a malicious copy could harvest the credentials Muse is designed to keep isolated.

Do I need the app, or can I use Muse in WhatsApp?

Both work. Meta says talking to Muse "works just like messaging another person, in the Muse app or directly in WhatsApp." The app has the fullest experience (feed, ideas, artifacts); the WhatsApp version handles core conversations and tasks.
